The Journey from Legacy to Future
In a typical Domino decommissioning project, we start by scanning all Notes databases. Usually, 60% are no longer used and can be closed, while 35% are read-only and suitable for archiving to SharePoint. The remaining active databases are analyzed with AI to plan and execute refactoring based on usage and complexity.
In most projects we’re engaged in, we use our own Domino Server Scan Tool, NDDM, to determine the scope by scanning all Domino servers gathering essential data on Notes db usage and content.
Based on the NDDM scan and questionnaires, Notes databases are archived to SharePoint. Our tooling creates a read-only copy of the Notes database on SharePoint that feels the same as in Notes.
Our tools analyze the Notes database code base and generate a Word document summarizing the app's functions in clear, easy-to-understand language, ensuring full documentation for refactoring.
We specialize in migrating Notes content to SQL and offer expert guidance on the best approach for each group of Notes databases, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition to modern platforms.
