Notes database Content Extractor

Introducing LNXtract – Export utility for Lotus Notes Content to Excel en disk

LNXtract is a Domino server based tool to export all Notes document content the Notes database has into:

Excel file – all text field values for all Notes documents are exported to an Excel file.

Rich text and attachments – all rich text field content including attachments are converted to EML files and these EML files are referenced in the Excel file created during the text export.

Extracting data from Lotus Notes database example

LNXtract will generate an Excel file per NSF for each Notes database form to export. An example is displayed in the image below.

For each Notes form used in the Notes database to store content the form name is listed as a sheet in the export Excel file (marked with a green square). In above example the Notes database uses multiple forms to store the content, this is the case for the majority of the Notes databases.

All fields that store non rich text data are listed on each sheet in row 1. The field values for all the Notes documents based on this particular form are listed in the rows starting from line 2.

Rich text is exported to disk as illustrated below:

An EML file content example is listed in the image below:

EML files can be read by PowerShell, see this example for details.
