Closed in 1994, a group of private investors breathed new life into the distillery in 2000. Today, Bruichladdich produces single malt whisky on the island of Islay under its own name, entirely without peat smoke. Port Charlotte is a medium smoky whisky, while Octomore is one of the smokiest single malts in the world. Octomore 16. 1 matured for 5 years
