King James IV already bought beer from this very brewery in 1488. Whisky production began in 1886. It wasn't until 1947 that the brewery buildings were converted into today's Tullibardine Distillery. Since 2011, the distillery has been owned by the French wine and spirits group Picard Vins & Spiritueux, which also owns the 'Highland Queen' brand.
