This vintage maxi coat has an elegant slim cut with empire line waist

The waist is nipped in with a wide velvet sash and all the stripes are appliquéd in velvet to the silk taffeta

At the back a high half belt finishes the waist and captures a deep pleat that starts between the shoulder blades and flares out to the hem of the skirt

The satin has been softened and the straps may have been neatly altered at some point
