La Maison Ferre Pommeau de Normandie "d’Oscar" (750ml) Size:750ml 6 Bottle Box - $175Pommeau is a product unique to French cider makers. They combine young, unfermented apple juice and aged Calvados to produce the equivalent of a vin mutage, a sweet, fortified drink. These are usually drunk as an aperitif and as an alternative to something like a glass of Lillet, Pineau de Charentes or Port. This example uses juice from around 30 heirloom, cider apple varieties and a calvados which has been aged for 4 years prior to blending.
