His training is not well documented and he is first recorded in 1619 as working with local painter Guglielmo Caccia working on an assignment in a church in Milan
he was a friend and contemporary of Jean Arp
this engraving is housed in the Wellcome Collection Museum
He completed his studies in the studio of Luc-Olivier Merson and it was around this time that he got into the habit of spending his holidays in Fontaine-la-Mallet with his comrade Othon Friesz
in the Bunker Hill area of downtown Los Angeles

The painting depicting an interior scene of 17th Century French Royalist Cavaliers playing chess. Two of the Cavaliers are seated at a carved table playing chess in their extravagant outfits, lace collar ruffs and rapier swords, while a third is seated and seems to be asleep or intoxicated, possibly explaining the silver
