The detail on the end is fascinating

With this example if you look closely you can see where the shell has been scraped away with a blade of some description and smoother areas where the pattern was smoothed

It has been well cleaned and prepared and is intact with the quadrate bones but is missing the pterygoid

The teeth are often preserved and found in sediments in the North Sea. This one measures 14. 5cm long by 8cm wide and 8. 5cm deep and weighs 1100 grams. This one has split into two parts.
