The case is finely engraved with engraved niello designs, the hinged lid having an architectural view, the underside of the case with a geometric niello design with a central engraved open cartouche that is free from an engraved monogram or name. The case is stamped to the inside base with the Imperial mark for Moscow & the Assayer's mark "A. P."
