This antique locket was assayed* (tested for gold purity*) at Chester Assay Office in 1910. The anterior surface is decorated with a shield cartouche. The shield cartouche is framed by acanthus leaves and forget me not flowers. The shield motif conveys the desire to protect. Acanthus leaves symbolise the desire for longevity. Forget me not flowers
