Unlike a flatbed scanner, a Coolscan scans the film directly not through glass for maximum detail. Scan resolution is up to 4000dpi. Important note: this scanner connects via Firewire, not USB. You will need a computer with a Firewire connection to make this scanner work. Fully tested and working well. Includes the MA 20 slide adapter, SA 21 negative feeder, Firewire cable,
