Beginning with just 5 hectares of land, his goal was to implement eco friendly farming practices under the shade of the natural forest canopy. When a bushfire destroyed most of the forest surrounding the farm, many locals turned to grow corn and teff (an ancient grain about the size of a poppy seed). Unfortunately, these crops can lead to soil erosion leaving the land barren after just a few
