As a light stand, it extends easily 12 feet in the air; as a boom, the pivot sits at just short of 6 feet, and the boom extends another 6 feet. Not as lightweight as a "single purpose" light stand, but the extra flexibility may come in very handy. A counterweight a sandbag or similar is required for boom use, and is not included here.
