Morganite Crystal, 6-8mm Abundance Graveyard DirtMorganite is pink beryl, which makes it a direct cousin of emerald and aquamarine: the same mineral species, a different trace element doing the colouring. Manganese gives it the pink. It was identified as a distinct variety in 1910 and named by George Kunz, Tiffany's gemologist, after his patron J. P. Morgan. So it is a genuinely modern stone.
