Antique French 18th Century Louis XVI Carved Gilt-Wood Greyhound Dog Jardinière Stand 1780 Decorative Arts wearing a green vestment andSOLD A very rare, large, antique French Louis XVI carved gilt wood jardinire stand, modeled as a greyhound dog, circa 1780. This very rare survivor is finely carved in pine, and gesso and water gilded with gold leaf, the stand has the original circular zinc liner, above the dog's head is a circular stand with a carved arcaded lunette shaped gallery with a carved acanthus leaf support. The dog is very realistically carved and displays seated bolt
