"I had a very pleasant childhood and enjoyed exploring the landscape and viewing the varied wildlife that the continent offers but the grasslands and rolling hills of Africa never inspired me as did the mountains of the northern continents

”  My 'mood' evaporated like mist on a sun drenched fjord as I throttled back to drink in the scene

Acushnet patrolled the waters of the North Pacific and was one of the last World War II era ships on active duty in the US fleet upon her retirement in 2011

As one who grew up adventuring in the outdoors
