The charger is compatible with the 6 amp (now discontinued), 8 amp and 12 amp batteries that the current Hoover HVRPWR backpack and the now discontinued upright vacuum. The charger can also be used to charge the old version batteries found on past MPWR vacuums. This charger has a recharging rate at about 90 minutes for 6AH batteries, 80 minutes for 8AH
