Victorian Carved Opal Buddha Pendant pique DATE: MiniatureDATE: Victorian, c. 1900 An incredible antique Buddha pendant dating from the late Victorian period, circa 1900. The figure is carved from a single piece of opal, beautifully detailed, and depicts the Buddha after his renunciation having cut off his hair (in contrast to the usual historically inaccurate iconographic convention). The stone is mounted in 18 karat gold, with platinum bezel set diamonds set around it and in the bail. STONES Opal & Diamond
