Victorian St. George & The Dragon Cameo Brooch spinel as expected with Imperial RussianDATE: Mid Victorian, c. 1860 A sensational Victorian cameo brooch depicting the famous image of Saint George slaying the Dragon, as featured on gold sovereign coins. The cameo is incredibly well detailed, carved from a single piece of shell, the subject rendered in white over a brown background. It's mounted in a 15 karat gold brooch with applied grape vine detailing to the top and bottom, and a locket compartment to the reverse. STONES Shell Cameo
