The highly domed paste gemstones are foil backed to enhance their brightness, and remain full of fire and life to this day. The stones rest in silver "pie crust" settings, a sort of amalgamation of claw and rub over, and have later added gold ear wires. The black dot in the middle of the stone has been painted on to replicate
