However, for optimal growth place it near a well lit window without direct sun exposure, which can scorch its leaves. Water: Allow the soil to dry out between waterings. Hoya prefer a well draining mix and is drought tolerant due to its thick, succulent like leaves. Water sparingly, especially in cooler months, to prevent root rot. Non toxic Pot size 12cm
