Georgian Garnet Buckle Brooch glass A superb Victorian Cobblestone ringDATE: Georgian, c. 1834 A cool Georgian buckle brooch set with foil backed rose cut garnets. It features an inscription to the reverse: "GC 1834". It's modelled in "garnet gold" which is basically gold with a fineness slightly lower than 9 karat, often used to set semiprecious stones such as garnet. STONES Garnet MEASUREMENTS 2. 1 x 1. 4cm WEIGHT 1. 8g MARKS No marks present, tests as garnet gold CONDITION Good, an old repair split to the bottom
